Food for thought: Earth’s precession was historically called precession of the equinoxes because the equinoxes moved westward along the ecliptic relative to the fixed stars, opposite to the motion of the Sun along the ecliptic. There is evidence that ancient civilizations knew about and followed the the precession. One complete cycle took 25,940 years to complete, or one degree every 72-years. – How did ancient civilizations come to learn about or obtain this knowledge? – One of several excellent videos suggesting that perhaps we are not the most advanced civilization.
